Seminar Offers Insight For Caregivers of Chronically Ill

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – The Health First Aging Institute’s Center for Family Caregivers is offering a free half-day seminar called “A Day of Hope” from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. today.

The seminar was developed to help those who care for a family member with a chronic medical condition and will be held at The Center for Family Caregivers, 3661 S. Babcock Street in Melbourne.

Lunch will be provided for particuipants.

Presentations include:

 • Calling all Caregivers: Take Your Oxygen First! (Presented by co-authors Drs. Jamie Huysman and Rosemary Laird)

 • The Doctors are IN — Question-and-Answer Session (followed by lunch)

Small group sessions also will be offered including:

 • Stay Healthy While Caregiving — in 30 Minutes per Day (Personalized prescription for caregiver’s health and wellness despite the challenges and stresses of caring for someone else. Presented by Rosemary Laird, MD, Board-certified Geriatrician and Medical Director of the Health First Aging Institute)

 •  Become Your Own Caregiving Coach! (A seminar to reduce caregiver burnout.  Discover your “Caregiver Coach” within! Presented by Dr. Jamie Huysman, PsyD, LCSW, CEO of International Caregivers Network)
