BCC Crushes Dakota County Technical College

AUBURNDALE, FLORIDA – Brevard Community College’s women’s soccer team cruised to its 11th win of the season and ninth straight blanking Dakota County Technical College of Minnesota 8-0 at Polk State College in Auburndale on Saturday.

BCC, ranked No. 1 in the NJCAA Division I national poll, improved to 11-1 on the season. The Titans have Florida College System Activities Association Southern Conference and NJCAA Region 8 games remaining at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Polk and 3 p.m. Friday at Broward College to wrap up the regular season.
The Titans have already clinched the FCSAA and Region 8 titles and will play on Nov. 3 in Mississippi for the right to advance to the NJCAA Division I national championship tournament from Nov. 11 to 17 at Melbourne Central Catholic High School.
BCC sophomore co-captain and leading scorer Lois Edvardsson scored her seventh, eighth and ninth goals of the season on Saturday.
Also scoring were sophomore Courtney Hueston, who also recorded two assists, freshman Katlyn Bales, sophomore Chelsea Seng, and freshmen Sarah Compton and Amanda Lodge.
Compton recorded two assists as did freshman Jade Rhodes. Freshman Sue Kumaning also had an assist.
Sophomores Julia Kantor and Katelyn Kern split time in goal, but were not called on to make any saves.
