Fisher, Ford To Be Inducted In JA Business Hall of Fame

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Junior Achievement of the Space Coast has announced their 2013 JASC Business Hall of Fame Laureates are Catherine A. Ford, Headmaster of Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy, and Robin L. Fisher, Brevard County Commissioner for District 1, and principal of Robin L. Fisher Insurance Agency, Inc. in Titusville Florida.

Ford and Fisher will be inducted into the 2013 Business Hall of Fame on Sat., March 9, 2013 during the gala event held at the Hilton Melbourne Rialto.

A cocktail reception will be held from 5:30-7:00, with the dinner program beginning at 7:00. Greg Pallone, anchor and reporter for Central Florida News 13, will be the guest emcee.

The Space Coast Business Hall of Fame recognizes those from the Brevard County community who have made outstanding contributions to free enterprise and to society. Nominations are accepted annually and judged by a panel of laureates and community leaders.

CATHERINE FORD

Ford has served in her position as headmaster of Holy Trinity Episcopal School in Melbourne since 1988.   She is a member of the Board of Directors for Florida Council of Independent Schools and of the Governing Board for the National Association of Episcopal Schools.

Ford has served on the Health First Board of Directors since 2006 and is former chairman for the Holmes Regional Medical Center/Palm Bay Hospital Board of Directors.  Ford is a B.S. and M.S. Graduate of Auburn University in Auburn, Alabama.

ROBIN FISHER

Fisher is a 1978 graduate of Satellite High School, where he received a football scholarship from the University of Florida.  He has been an agent with State Farm for the past 23 years, earning numerous awards for production and service.

Fisher was elected to the Brevard County Board of County Commissioners in November 2008. He was elected to serve as vice-chairman in November 2009 and chairman in 2011.  As Campaign Chairman for the Brevard County YMCA, Fisher was responsible for raising $2.5 million to build the Titusville YMCA Family Center.

Each year, Junior Achievement accepts nominations from the community to recognize individuals as a Business Hall of Fame Laureate.  To be selected, the nominee’s record of business achievement must demonstrate business excellence, courageous thinking and actions, vision and innovation, inspiring leadership and community mindedness.

Since 1986, Junior Achievement of the Space Coast has inducted such notable individuals as Joseph H. Wickham, Jesse J. Parrish, Jr., W. Lansing Gleason, Dr. Kurt Debus, B.W. “Bernie” Simpkins, Howard Lance and Dr. Maxwell C. King.  Notable Laureates from the Space Coast, Wayne Huizenga of Blockbuster Entertainment Group and Al Neuharth of USA TODAY/FLORIDA TODAY, went on to be inducted into the JA USA Business Hall of Fame. Business Hall of Fame past inductees can be found on-line at JASpaceCoast.org.

In 2012, Junior Achievement recognized Mr. Joseph Duda of A. Duda and Sons, Inc. and Mr. John Hopkins of Berman Hopkins Wright & LaHam during the 26th annual celebration.
