Sheriff’s Agents Arrest Cocoa Robbery Suspect

According to the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office, agents arrested the suspect, who is a minor, for robbery by sudden snatching, criminal mischief and violation of probation.
Agents received a CRIMELINE tip, which led to the suspect’s identity. The suspect was located on Montclaire Street, Cocoa. Once located, the suspect misled the agents by providing a false name to avoid identification. The suspect was transported to the Brevard County Juvenile Detention Center.

BREVARD COUNTY • COCOA, FLORIDA –Brevard County Sheriff’s Office Agents are investigating a robbery that occurred at approximately 10:20 a.m. this morning at the intersection of Belleview Road and Palm St. in Cocoa.
According to the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office, a wheelchair-bound female was ordering food inside the McDonald’s restaurant located at 927 Dixon Blvd. in Cocoa.
While ordering the food, the victim was approached by a black male suspect who offered to assist. The suspect additionally offered the victim a deal on a gasoline powered wheelchair that he allegedly had at his house.
According to Brevard County Sheriff’s Office, the suspect convinced the victim to follow him in her wheelchair to a nearby abandoned house. When the victim became suspicious she attempted to leave. The suspect then grabbed her, and forcibly removed her fanny pack and fled the scene.
The pack contained the victim’s wallet and currency.
The suspect is described as a black male, in his 20’s, approximately 5’10 tall, weighing between 160-170 lbs., with short black hair. Hewas wearing a gray t-shirt with black drawstring shorts and black tennis shoes.
