Little League Action Back After Rain Delay

Little League District 22 Report

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – The rains finally gave us a break and District 22 got back to tournament play.

MIMS POOL

IRC-LOGO-160In 9/10 baseball action at Holder Park, Mims Little League (v) scored 2 runs, but came up short as Indian River City Little League scored 12 runs in 4 innings to take the Mims Pool.

Dawson Martin had a double for Mims, while Jason Woodward had a double and Brayden Chamberlin hit a home run for Indian River City. Indian River City will move on to meet the Rockledge Pool winner in the 9/10 baseball finals.

ROCKLEDGE POOL

The Rockledge Pool winner was also decided in a rain-postponed game that was moved from McLarty Park to Holder Park. Rockledge Little League (v) scored 8 runs in the 6th inning to top Cocoa Little League 15 – 7. Dylan Peterson scored 2 of Cocoa’s runs and Mason Renshaw had a double.

Rockledge’s Aaron Saltsman scored 4 times in 5 at bats and had a triple, while Stephen Wojcik and Frankie Bradley both added doubles. As stated above, Rockledge will meet Indian River City in the 9/10 baseball finals currently scheduled for Saturday.

JUNIOR DIVISION

Also at Holder Park, the Junior baseball division came down to the wire as Indian River City Little League (v) rode a 3-run sixth inning for a 6 – 5 come from behind win over Mims Little League. On the mound for Indian River City, Nicky Conboy and Mikey Mudrak combined for 5 strikeouts.

For Mims, Ryan Sharpe had a triple. Indian River City Little League is the District 22 Junior Baseball Champions and advance to the Florida Section 3 Tournament to be played July 20th in Debary, Florida.

SENIOR DIVISION

Over at Mitchell Ellington Park, the Senior baseball division saw Mims Little League (v) meeting Merritt Island Senior Little League in a tight 7 inning game. Mims squeaked out a 3 – 2 win to take a 1 – 0 lead in this division.
