COCOA TAKES LEAD ON INTERCEPTION RETURNED 80 YARDS BY FREDDY BOOTH-LLOYD WITH 8 MINUTES LEFT IN 3RD QUARTER

John Wilkinson’s Cocoa Tigers are in Washington DC today to take on Gonzaga in Week 1 prep football action.

The game will be played at the University of Maryland, located in College Park. Kickoff is set for 4 p.m.
In eight years at the helm of the Tigers, Wilkinson’s teams have been a perennial contender for state championships, capturing state titles in three consecutive seasons – 2008, 2009 and 2010 – and reaching the state semifinals in 2011 and 2012. During the state championship run, Cocoa won 38 straight games from 2008 to 2010.

For 2013, Tiger QB Bruce Judson, a 5-10, 175 pounder, is the first Freshman to start for Cocoa since Chris Hall in 1988, who later went on to play for Florida State. Judson is a FBU Central Florida Youth Phenom, National Underclassman Orlando QB MVP, and Middle School 100m and 200m champion.
HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL VIDEO PROFILE: Freddie Booth-Lloyd of Cocoa
Judson has the luxury of not having to do it all his first year as he is surrounded by D1 talent.

Jamel Jackson (South Alabama, Sr., DB), Freddy Booth Lloyd (16 offers, Sr., DL), Chauncey Gardner (Miami, So., ATH), Jamel Dean (Multiple Offers, Jr., ATH) and James Folston (son of NFL player James Folston, Sr.) lead a fast and swarming defense. Lorenzo Pratt (Sr., RB) will take the bulk of carries as he becomes the featured back now that All-American Tarean Folston is playing at Notre Dame.
Gonzaga will come into the game after a 23-7 upset loss in a scrimmage recently against Archbishop Carroll. However, Gonzaga will look to unleash Ohio commit Robbie Walker (Sr., ATH) and Georgia Tech commit Miles Taylor (Jr., ATH).
