ABOVE VIDEO: Brevard County Sheriff Corporal Tom Gunter describes the Citizens Defense Firearms course.
Today the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office hosted another successful “Self Defense Through Tactical Shooting and Decision Making” class for our citizens at the Sheriff’s Office Firearms Range in Cocoa, Fl.
The course is held the last Saturday of each month and provides training in the areas of Self Defense Through Mental Preparedness, Legal Discussion on Castle Doctrine and Stand Your Ground, Shoot/Don’t Shoot Scenarios, and Tactical Shooting on the firing range. Attendees go through various shooting drills (firing over 100 rounds) as well as learn about weapon retention and gun safety. The class also meets the standard of training for those interested in obtaining their Concealed Carry Permit.
For more information on the course or to register to attend please visit our website at brevardsheriff.com or contact our Career Development Unit at (321) 264-5281.
As always I would like to thank our Firearm’s Instructors, Career Development Team, and our State Attorney Phil Archer for doing such at great job at facilitating today’s training.
