ABOVE MAP: The Eastern Florida State College golf camp will include nine holes at a local course on the first and final day. All camps will be based at the Fred Gay Golf Academy at Eastern Florida State College, 3570 SR 524 in Cocoa Florida.
GOLF — Eastern Florida State College head golf coach Jamie Howell is holding three camps this summer.
“The camp prepares high school golfers for the upcoming golf season,” Howell said.
“We will cover equipment, on course strategy, practice and training methods and effective stat keeping. All will be discussed daily as well as demonstrated and practiced at the golf academy.”
The first camp will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. June 9 – 12 for ages seven through 12 with a cost of $85 per camper. The second camp will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. June 30-July 3 for ages 12 to 17 with a cost of $85 per camper.
The first two camps will cover the fundamentals of golf with an emphasis on short game skills and will include drinks and snacks. The third camp will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. July 28-31 for competitive high school players. The cost is $150 per camper.
