NICK DELMONICO SUSPENDED 50 GAMES

The Office of the Commissioner of Baseball announced today that Brevard County Manatees third baseman Nick Delmonico has received a 50-game suspension without pay after testing positive for an Amphetamine in violation of the Minor League Drug Prevention and Treatment Program.

Delmonico, 22, acquired from the Orioles in 2013 in the Francisco Rodriguez trade, was playing for Class A Brevard County of the Florida State League.

He was hitting .262 for the Manatees, with four home runs and 15 RBIs.

The suspension will carry over to 2015 as the Manatees will conclude their regular season Aug. 31.
