BOB FREEMAN’S WEEKEND SURF REPORT

By  //  December 7, 2014

Waves are looking mostly unrideable this morning. Late-morning's lower tide could help make the small waves more rideable by then. Surfers seeking an early morning surf session may want to focus on Cocoa Beach's northernmost beaches for a longboardable wave.
Ocean temperatures remain in the 72 degree range. A springsuit or vest in the morning may be all that will be needed with sunshine and air temperatures in the mid-seventies providing some added warmth.

SURF REPORT FOR DEC. 5 – DEC. 7, 2014

Bob Freeman has been surfing Brevard's waves since 1966.

FRIDAY: Surf this Friday morning is running in the chest- to head-high range with bumpy surface conditions from an early northeasterly wind.

SATURDAY: Saturday’s surf will average chest-high with bumpy conditions again from a steady northeasterly wind.

SUNDAY: Sunday’s surf heights will decrease into the waist- to chest-high range with cleaner conditions expected from a northerly breeze.

Ocean temperatures have dropped to 67 degrees. A fullsuit may be the best option for mornings, but surfers can shed much of the rubber by Sunday afternoon.

Watch for jelly fish in the surf that have been blown into our area from this past week’s northeasterly winds. Fortunately stings have been light with itching lasting for about 30 minutes. Household vinegar will bring some relief.
