TRAFFIC ADVISORY: Palm Bay Holiday Parade Today

Every year thousands of spectators turn out to line the parade route and welcome the holiday season.  The parade route goes from San Filippo Drive turning west on to Malabar Rd and ends at Eldron Blvd. The parade is sponsored by Health First Palm Bay Hospital and presented by the City of Palm Bay. BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – San Filippo Drive between Malabar Road and Jupiter Boulevard will be closed beginning at 4 p.m. Saturday December 6 in order to begin preparations for the annual Health First Palm Bay Hospital Holiday Light Parade which is scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m. at the Palm Bay Campus of Eastern Florida State College.

HOLIDAY-LIGHT-PARADE-180The parade will head north on San Filippo then west on Malabar Road to Eldron Boulevard.

The Eastbound lanes of Malabar Road will be closed beginning at approximately 5 p.m. and the westbound lanes will be transitioned to two-way traffic beginning at approximately 5:30 p.m.

The shift in traffic flow is expected to remain in place until approximately 10 p.m.

Patrol officers will be at key intersections directing traffic.

Motorists are asked to use caution in the area and if necessary seek alternate routes during this time.
