Lady Titans Hold Off Indian River State, 59-54

Eastern Florida improved to 10-5 overall
BREVARD COUNTY, FL – Eastern Florida’s women’s basketball team opened Florida College System Activities Association Southern Conference play with a 59-54 victory over Indian River State College in Fort Pierce on Saturday.
Eastern Florida improved to 10-5 overall and is 1-0 in the conference. Indian River fell to 2-10 and 0-1.
Eastern Florida now has equaled its win total from the 2012-2013 and 2013-2014 seasons combined when it finished 3-27 and 7-23 respectively.The Titans led at the half, 33-23.
“In our league you take wins however they come. Especially on the road. I am proud of how we responded to adversity today,” said Eastern Florida head coach Jim Grimes.
Sophomore Rachelle Aupont led the Titans with 14 points and seven rebounds.
Freshman Nene Johnson had 13 points, four rebounds and seven assists. Sophomore Jessica Doyle was good on four of seven three-pointers.
Next up for the Titans is there conference home opener in Melbourne at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday against St. Petersburg College. Admission is free.
