Additional College-Sponsored Merit Scholarship Winners Announced

The National Merit Scholarship Corporation has announced approximately 1,700 additional winners of National Merit Scholarships financed by colleges and universities.

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – The National Merit Scholarship Corporation has announced approximately 1,700 additional winners of National Merit Scholarships financed by colleges and universities.

BPS has two additional Merit Scholar designees who join more than 2,200 other college-sponsored award recipients who were announced in late May.

Every year, officials from each sponsor college select scholarship winners from among the Finalists in the 2015 National Merit Scholarship Program who plan to attend their university. These awards are given annually to students to finance four years of undergraduate course work.

BPS’ additional winners and their accompanying school and sponsor are:

• Jason T. Brown – Rockledge High, University of Florida
• Eva N. Johnson – West Shore Jr./Sr. High, Florida State University

These outstanding students are a part of the distinguished group of about 7,400 high school seniors who were selected as 2015 National Merit Scholars.

These distinguished high school graduates will receive scholarships for undergraduate study worth a total of more than $32 million.
