BREVARD COUNTY • PATRICK AIR FORCE BASE, FLORIDA – A group of reservists from the 920th Rescue Wing here returned recently from a deployment to the Horn of Africa.

Approximately 30 pararescue and support personnel spent roughly the last four months as part of Combined Joint Task Force – Horn of Africa, where they provided personnel-recovery and humanitarian relief as needed.

The 920th Rescue Wing is the Air Force Reserve’s only combat rescue unit.

Air Force Combat Rescue organizations are the only Department of Defense’s units specifically organized, trained, equipped and postured to conduct full-spectrum personnel recovery, to include both conventional and unconventional combat-rescue operations.
