BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Following his record-breaking performance in Florida Tech’s 28-24 win over Shorter, running back Antwuan Haynes has been named the Gulf South Conference Offensive Player of the Week and Freshman of the Week for Week 9.

Haynes becomes just the second player ever two win both the freshman and offensive player laurel in the same week, joining fellow Panther Mark Cato who accomplished the feat after the opening week of the 2014 season.

The awards mark the fourth and fifth conference honors for the Fort Lauderdale, Florida native. It is the first offensive player of the week honor for Haynes.

The pair of awards brings FIT into a tie for the most in the GSC this season, matching the totals of both West Alabama and West Georgia with seven.
