UPDATE: Vahtiece Kirkman was sentenced to death Friday afternoon after the conviction of the Darice Knowles murder in 2006.
22-year-old former beauty queen Darice Knowles was buried alive by Kirkman back in 2006. Her body wasn’t recovered until four years after the incident.
According to investigators findings, the woman was taken to a wooded area, where she was then tied up and gagged. She was then thrown into a hole and covered in concrete.

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA (WFTV) – Another life sentence isn’t enough for a man convicted in the 2006 murder of a former beauty queen, prosecutors said.
The jury recommended death Tuesday for Vahtiece Kirkman, who was convicted of the murder of Darice Knowles, with a vote of 10-to-2.
The judge will accept or deny the jury’s recommendation at sentencing on April 29 at 1:15 p.m.
Prosecutors were seeking the death penalty Kirkman, 37. He is already serving a life sentence for the 2006 murder of Willie Parker.
