BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – After an impressive junior campaign, Florida Tech track & field’s Terence Brookins’ season came to an end Thursday evening in the first day of the 2016 NCAA Division II Track & Field Championships at IMG Academy.

Taking his mark in the prelims of the 400m dash competition, Brookins finished the heat in 48.19s to take 18th overall in the event.

Unfortunately, because his run was not among the Top 8 in the event, the junior did not make the cut for Saturday’s final.

Brookins had an incredible season on the track for Florida Tech. The Satellite Beach-product, and current school-record holder in the 400m dash, secured three medals at the Peach Belt Conference Championships this season: silver in the 400m dash and bronzes in the 4x100m relay and 200m dash. He also became the first male sprinter in program history to earn a bid to NCAA Championships.
