BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Craig McCall does not show up on a lot of box scores for the Eastern Florida State College men’s soccer team.

But make no mistake, the midfielder is one of the leaders of the group and he was recognized for that leadership this week, being named the Region 8 co-Player of the Year with Daytona State’s Brandon Berg.

McCall was one of six Titans recognized in the first Region 8 conference postseason awards and was honored to be recognized.

“It was a bit of a surprise for me, actually,” McCall said. “It’s an honor, really privileged to get the award. I could not have done it without my teammates, it’s a bit of exciting news for me.”

“The sophomore has started every game in his career at Eastern Florida State College and leaves with seven goals, 13 assists and a much better picture of who he is on and off the field.”

“When I first came in I was happy to do my part and I was a talker, but I have learned a lot about leading and taking responsibility and being the one that picks up the team when we are down,” McCall said. “Responsibility is definitely something I have worked on and it is good that the hard work has paid off.”

Also making the first team all-conference team for the Titans is goalkeeper Bryce Notardonato, midfielder J.J. Donnelly and forward Danilo Orsi-Dadomo.

Notardonato finished his freshman season with 82 saves, a team record seven shutouts and an 82 percent save rate, starting all 16 games.
