Titusville Police Lieutenant Jeffrey King Graduates From Prestigious FBI National Academy

BREVARD COUNTY • TITUSVILLE, FLORIDA – Titusville Police Lt. Jeffrey King graduated from the prestigious FBI National Academy in Quantico, Virginia last December.

FBI Director James Comey presided over the graduation ceremony and awarded Lt. King his diploma at the FBI Academy, which is located just outside of Washington D.C.

King completed graduate-level courses in the areas of advanced communication and leadership, as well as fitness training. Training for the program was provided by FBI Academy Instructional Staff, Special Agents, and other staff members holding advanced degrees, many of whom are recognized internationally in their fields of expertise.

All courses at the FBI Academy are accredited through the University of Virginia.

Internationally known for its academic excellence and advanced training, The National Academy, which was established in 1935, is considered to be the premier training for law enforcement professionals.

Less than one percent of all law enforcement officers nationwide are selected to attend this program. The cost of the training is paid for by the U.S. Department of Justice.

The 266th Session of National Academy Program consisted of men and women from 48 different states, 20 international countries, five military organizations, and eight federal civilian organizations.

Attendees live in dorms on the academy grounds during the eleven-week program. Students undergo significant physical training along with the academic schedule, culminating in a 6.2 mile obstacle course known as the “Yellow Brick Road,” located on the U.S. Marine Base.

Lt. King was raised in Merritt Island and began his law enforcement career with the Titusville Police Department in 1995. During his career, Lt. King worked as a detective, sergeant and lieutenant in the Investigations and Patrol Divisions.

In 2015, he was assigned to oversee the Professional Standards Division, which includes recruiting, training, accreditation and internal investigations. Lt. King has also served as the SWAT Team Commander and has received many accolades during the course of his career.

He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Central Florida and a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from the Florida Institute of Technology.

In 2013, Lt. King graduated PERF’s (Police Executive Research Forum) Senior Management Institute for Police, Session #53, in Boston, Massachusetts.
