Eastern Florida State Titans Pick Up Tough 90-85 Overtime Win At Indian River State College

The Eastern Florida State College men’s basketball team knew this was going to be a battle from the start and it lived up to the hype as the Titans came away with a huge 90-85 overtime road win against Indian River State College Wednesday night.
“To come in here, on the road in a conference game and get win No. 24, just so proud of our guys,” Eastern Florida State College men’s basketball coach Jeremy Shulman said.
The win has the Titans back in first place after Broward College upset Palm Beach State 80-73.
The loss snapped an eight-game winning streak for Palm Beach State who falls into second place at 9-4.
The Titans tough road win came on the back of sophomore Joan Duran who had a season-high 27 points including the basket to send the game to overtime.
Indian River State College came out shooting and took an early 10-point lead in the first 10 minutes of the game.

The Titans responded with a 10-2 run to take a one-point lead into halftime. Like the Pioneers in the first half, Eastern Florida came out in the second half and went on a 9-0 run to take a 10-point lead of their own.
In a game of runs, Indian River State College responded with one of their own, a 12-2 run to tie things back up.
Willy Nunez, who finished with a game-high 28 points, had a chance to win the game in regulation but his 3-pointer rimmed out and in overtime, Eastern Florida State College went on one final run behind Duran and Ahmed Ali to seal the win for the Titans.

“Every possession, we kept our composure and we buckled down and made a stop to send it to overtime,” Shulman said. “We showed some toughness tonight.”
Shaq Carter had another big game as well, scoring 17 points while Ahmed Ali added 16 and Kaleel Solomon had 10 in the win.
The Titans have won the past four Southern Conference titles and must win their final two games to lock up a fifth straight title.
Eastern Florida State College is now 10-3 in the conference and 24-4 overall.
The Titans stay on the road and will travel to ASA Miami on Saturday afternoon before returning home to host Miami Dade at 7 p.m. on Tuesday night at Titan Field House.
Tuesday’s home contest is Sophomore Night at Titan Field House.
