Titans Men Win 16th in a Row, Women Move to 12-3 Overall Defeating Indian River State College

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA — The Eastern Florida State College men’s basketball team won its 16th straight game Wednesday night, defeating Harcum College in the New Year Classic at Titan Field House on the Melbourne campus.

The Titans used a big second-half run to post the 94-72 win over Harcum who fell to 10-4 on the season. Harcum cut the lead to 55-50 with under 14 minutes left in the contest, but the Titans went on a 27-10 run in eight minutes to pull away.

During the stretch freshman Nathanael Jack had 11 of his team-high 21 points. After a slow first half, Jack got going scoring 19 of his 21 in the second half. It is the eighth straight game the freshman from Canada has scored at least 11 points.

Teammate Ahmed Ali finished with 20 points and has now scored at least 11 points in all 18 of the Titans games this season. For the second straight game, Ruot Monyyong had a season-high 15 points.

Michael Nuga finished with 17 points, six rebounds and five assists.

The Titans, who are now 17-1 on the season, will open the Mid-Florida Conference season Saturday afternoon, traveling to the College of Central Florida for a 4 p.m. tipoff. The Titans will return to Titan Field House on Jan. 13 to play Florida State College at Jacksonville in a Mid-Florida Conference game.

The Eastern Florida State College women’s basketball team jumped out to a 10-2 lead and never looked back, defeating Indian River State College 83-57 Wednesday evening at Titan Field House.

In a game shown live on WEFS-TV, the Titans came out firing as Angeni Worley hit back-to-back 3-pointers and Alexandrine Obouh Fegue had two baskets to give Eastern Florida State College a 10-2 lead.

Obouh Fegue finished with 20 points and 14 rebounds to record her 10th double-double of the season. Worley finished with 15 points while Brianna Lewis had 13 points and nine assists and Victoria Morales had 10 points off the bench.

Indian River State College was led by Edley Drawhorn who had 23 points.

Eastern Florida State College improved to 12-3 on the season with the win and will host unbeaten St. Louis Community College on Saturday.
