WATCH LIVE LITTLE LEAGUE GAME ACTION!

SPACE COAST DAILY TV: The Friday Night Locker Room’s Orville Susong and Steve Wilson bring you live coverage of the District 22 Major Division All-Star Tournament between Space Coast and Cocoa from McLarty Park in Rockledge on Sunday.

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Game 2 of the Senior League Baseball All-Star tournament was played Saturday at W. W. James Park in Titusville with the visiting team of Indian River City taking on the home team, Stars and Stripes, from Port St. John/Rockledge/Cocoa.

The pitching from Indian River City took control and dominated the game with Nick Mackiewicz, Brayden Chamberlain and Ryan Speece combining for a 1 hit shutout. Evan Schooley had the lone hit for Stars and Stripes but was stranded on base without scoring.

Cayton Moore went 2 for 2 with 3 RBI while Robbie O’Bryan and Collin Brock each contributed singles with RBIs to pace the Indian River City offense to a 15-0 win.

Indian River City claimed the District 22 Senior League Baseball Championship title and will advance to the Section 3 tournament next weekend at W. W. James Park against the winners from Districts 11 and 19.

Elsewhere, the 8-10 Baseball tournament got underway up at Holder Park with the visiting team from Rockledge Little League facing off against the home team from Merritt Island Little League.

For Rockledge, Dylan Williams went 2-for-3 with a stolen base and scored a run while teammate Brady Kerns scored their second run. But, Merritt Island’s bats were cranking with 14 hits. Ty Brandes went 3-for-3 with a walk and scored twice and Cooper Janke also went 3-for-3, scoring 2 runs and a stealing a base.

The final score was Rockledge 2 and Merritt Island 10 in 5 1/2 innings.

In the late 8-10 Baseball game at Holder, Mims LL (visitor) and Indian River City LL (home) had to wait out rain and lightning to decide their matchup.

For Indian River City, Jacob Becan, Jonathan Wilson, Brayden Dickey and Benjamin Pastor scored runs. But the Mims LL bats were hot with Logan Futch, Robbie Lowe, and Malik Britt each scoring 3 runs as Mims took the 16-4 win in a game that took almost 4 hours to complete.

Down at Rockledge’s McLarty Park, the 4-team pool of Major (10-12) Baseball took off with the visitors from Space Coast LL meeting the home team from Rockledge LL.

Space Coast’s Derrick Czarny had a single in the third inning, but could only make it to third base before the inning ended. Rockledge scored 18 runs behind Derrick Greene’s double while Kaden Canida pitched for 6 strikeouts.

The final score was Rockledge winning 18-0.

In the afternoon Major Baseball game, Mims Little League met Cocoa Little League.

For the Cocoa All-Stars (home), Josh Bunnel had a single and Okeece Battle scored a run. However, Mims LL’s Brenden Higginbotham and Ray Fletcher both hit doubles as Mims went on to win 16-4.
