Florida Tech Men’s Soccer Ranks No. 5 in Sunshine State Conference Preseason Poll

Panthers finished 2017 season with a record of 9-6 (6-4 SSC)
BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Announced on Aug. 21, was the annual Sunshine State Conference preseason coaches poll which ranked the Florida Tech men’s soccer team fifth as they tallied a total of 64 points.
The Panthers finished the 2017 season with a record of 9-6 (6-4 SSC). The team started the season out on a roll as they racked up an impressive 8-1 mark before hitting a rough patch to finish the season.
The Crimson and Gray kick off the year with four nonconference matches before heading south to West Palm Beach, Florida for their SSC opener with No. 9 Palm Beach Atlantic. The men will have other tough tests on the road as they are set to face off with Saint Leo, Florida Southern, Barry and No. 2 Lynn.
Florida Tech will welcome Eckerd, Nova Southeastern, Embry-Riddle, No. 23 Tampa and Rollins to the familiar confines of Rick Stottler field during the 2018 season.
The Panthers being their season Aug. 30 when the team invites the Lee Flames to Melbourne, Fla. Kick off for the season opener is set for 7 p.m.
