POLICE: body found along the river bank about 8:50 a.m. Wednesday

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – The Brevard County Sheriff’s Office homicide unit is investigating after a fisherman on the Banana River discovered a body near the Pineda Causeway, west of Patrick Air Force Base.

Authorities say the fisherman discovered the body along the river bank about 8:50 a.m. Wednesday as he was launching his boat into the river.

The medical examiner is at the scene and Sheriff’s agents have not released the cause of death or the identity of the victim.

Law enforcement authorities are not releasing any additional information at this time.
