BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – In this edition of “Riding Shotgun,” Brevard County Sheriff Wayne Ivey and BCSO Deputy John Vaughn patrol the area that covers the South Precinct of Brevard County.

In this episode, Sheriff Ivey and Deputy Vaughn respond to two calls.

The first call involves a trespassing that turns out to be a family issue involving an older woman that suffers from dementia and her son’s girlfriend. Deputy Vaughn assisted where he could and turned the case over to the Department of Children and Families for follow up.

Deputy Vaughn then assisted Deputy Pendleton to serve an Injunction for Protection issued by the court. During the call, a firearm was confiscated per the order of the injunction.

The individual in question was served in accordance with the orders of the injunction and released.

Deputy Vaughn’s one word to describe his job is, “support,” and loves the support from the community, the agency, his family and extended family on the job.

“It’s a great feeling to get that much support on the job,” said Deputy Vaughn.
