“The Friends of the CACB are offering you an opportunity to become a sponsor of this event, which promises to be the best this year,” said Children’s Advocacy Center of Brevard spokesperson Diane Scott.

“While this event is primarily a fundraiser, ‘Diamonds are Forever’ presents a great opportunity to build awareness of the issues surrounding child abuse and enlist support for the CACB’s programs and services that assist children in overcoming the trauma of abuse and embark on a path of healing and hope.”

The Friends of the Children’s Advocacy Center of Brevard is the fundraising and awareness nonprofit organization for the Children’s Advocacy Center of Brevard, an organization established in 1996 as a means to improve our community’s response to child abuse and neglect.

The Advocacy Center is a collaborative effort of the Child Protection Team of Brevard, the Florida Department of Children and Families, the Office of the State Attorney, the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office and municipal law enforcement agencies in Brevard County.

The Children’s Advocacy Center of Brevard, a program of the Space Coast Health Foundation, follows a national model that has proven to be successful in addressing the issue of child abuse and neglect and is being replicated throughout the United States.

The Advocacy Center is specifically designed to provide a safe place for child victims of abuse, a child-friendly environment where caring professionals coordinate forensic assessments and intervention.

Counselors provide specialized therapy to peel away the layers of confusion, fear and shame for children who have suffered the trauma of abuse at the hands of a parent, caregiver, or someone they knew, loved and trusted.

This past fiscal year, there were more than 1,400 child abuse assessments completed at the Advocacy Center.
