BREVARD COUNTY • MERRITT ISLAND, FLORIDA – Boat parades are among the most celebrated holiday events on the Space Coast and the much awaited and popular Merritt Island Christmas Boat Parade was held Saturday evening.
The 2018 Merritt Island Christmas Boat Parade was hosted again this year by Kaleb and Sarah from Blue Marlin Real Estate and Aaron Dumont from Stingray Boats.
Boaters, as always, showcased the spirit of the season by adorning their seaworthy vessels with strands of lights, reindeer and other decorations that represent our tropical-style traditions.
The parade began as the Captains staged their boats at Sykes Creek Parkway Bridge/Kiwanis Basin.
The parade proceeded north through Sykes Creek and the adjacent canals, ending at State Road 528.
In addition to the many home parties on the canals of Merritt Island, one of the best viewing locations was at the Sykes Creek Parkway Bridge.
