BREVARD COUNTY • SATELLITE, BEACH – The Satellite Beach Seahawks Youth Football and Cheerleading organization is proud to be recognized by the Pro Football Hall of Fame and USA Football with a Chuck Noll Hall of Fame “Game for Life” Award for commitment, integrity, courage, respect and excellence.

The Seahawks received the recognition, which goes to only one youth football organization in each state annually, for its work over the last few years to put teamwork, player safety and scholastic achievement at the forefront of its goals.

“We could not be more excited to have this recognition by no lesser organizations than the Pro Football Hall of Fame and USA Football,” Seahawks Commissioner John Wallace said.

“Our parents, coaches and amazing young football and cheer athletes have worked hard to make sure these principles — commitment, integrity, courage, respect, and excellence — are the foundation of everything we do.

I congratulate everyone involved in the Seahawks in any way, especially these amazing young men and women on the field.”

Satellite Scorpions head coach Ted Kimmey joins the president of the Satellite Beach Seahawks youth football program, John Wallace for the Coaches Corner, a weekly show on YoutTube and Facebook that discusses beachside football.

The program, sponsored by equipment maker Riddell and Dick’s Sporting Goods, recognizes groups for commitment to coaching education, teaching lessons about how to win rather than emphasizing winning and nurturing a culture that celebrates preparation, discipline, accountability, and respect.

It also centers on organizations that apply these lessons to success beyond the football field.

It is named for legendary Pittsburgh Steelers coach Chuck Noll, who taught those values on his way to 209 wins and four Super Bowl titles.

“To be associated with an amazing figure like Coach Noll is both humbling and inspiring,” Wallace said. “We will continue to work hard to be worthy of his namesake honor.”

The award includes grants from both Riddell and DICK’s Sporting Goods.

The Seahawks run leagues almost year-round, including tackle and flag football and cheer in the fall, flag football in the winter and 8-on-8 football in the spring.
