Melbourne Police Looking For Suspect Who Burglarized Wickham Mini Storage in Form of Cash, Tools

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Melbourne Police are on the lookout for a suspect who burglarized Wickham Mini Storage on Tuesday.

Police say they responded to a business alarm that the perp set off around 5:12 a.m. at Wickham Mini Storage on 1865 N. Wickham Rd.

“This business is a small strip mall situated with several store fronts facing Wickham Rd. along with an attached storage facility to the rear,” said a spokesperson with the Melbourne Police Department.

“When officers entered the business, they located a hole in the wall that led to the numerous storage units. When inside the storage units, they discovered 16 had been entered by either cutting the locks or prying the doors.”

Police believe the suspect entered through the roof of the storage facility. After about 30 minutes, the suspect tripped one of the alarms which called for a police response. However, the perp was able to get away before police arrived and took numerous amounts cash, checks and tools.

Investigators obtained surveillance footage of the suspect and they are looking for a suspect with a thin appearance wearing all black and was carrying a black backpack.

The suspect’s hat was also left inside the business, according to police.
