CRIME ALERT! Titusville Police Officers, K-9 Units Seeking Armed Hit-and-Run Suspect

Police: suspect is an imminent threat to public safety
BREVARD COUNTY • TITUSVILLE, FLORIDA – Titusville police units are on the hunt for an armed hit-and-run suspect who left the scene of multiple vehicle crashes and then fled on foot with a rifle.
According to police, the initial crash occurred Monday at 3 p.m. at Broad Street and Washington Avenue.
Shortly after, the suspect crashed nearby at Washington Avenue and Garden Street.
“The suspect in both traffic crashes was driving a white Mercury Marquis, fled the scene on foot at the later traffic crash, took a rifle from the vehicle and ran west on Garden Street toward the Cumberland Farms convenience store,” said Titusville police officials.
“Officers are on scene, securing a perimeter, and are currently looking for the hit and run suspect.”
Titusville police are confirming that the suspect also had body armor in his abandoned vehicle.
K-9s units are on the scene and a helicopter overhead searching the area.
