HURCON III indicates winds in excess of 58 mph could arrive at PAFB and CCAFS within 48 hours

WATCH: The 45th Space Wing has entered Hurricane Condition III (HURCON III) in preparation for Hurricane Dorian. In an abundance of caution, we have declared HURCON III early and we are not expecting effects from the storm until Monday.

BREVARD COUNTY • PATRICK AIR FORCE BASE – The 45th Space Wing has entered Hurricane Condition III (HURCON III) in preparation for Hurricane Dorian. In an abundance of caution, we have declared HURCON III early and we are not expecting effects from the storm until Monday.

HURCON III usually indicates surface winds in excess of 58 mph could arrive in the area of Patrick Air Force Base and Cape Canaveral Air Force Station within 48 hours.

We will continue to monitor the latest available data on Hurricane Dorian as well as work closely with Brevard County officials, state officials and other Air Force units.

A limited departure/evacuation order was issued for all non-essential base personnel at 0900 for zones A-D with a depart time no later than 1000 September 1.

If any members are in need of a travel advance to assist in their evacuation they may stop by the 45 CPTS finance counter in Bldg 423 today from 1100-1500. Please ensure to bring your government issue ID.

The base commissary will be open today until 1900 for any supplies you may need and the gas pumps at the shopette will be open until 1000 September 1 as well.

Base personnel are expected to stay in touch with their respective chain of command and log in to the Air Force Personnel Accountability and Assessment System (AFPAAS) at https://afpaas.af.mil.
