The Florida Highway Patrol reported that two people were killed in a trike motorcycle crash on U.S. Highway 1 at Mirkwood Street on Sunday afternoon at about 4:50 p.m. According to Florida Highway Patrol spokesperson Lt. BREVARD COUNTY • SCOTTSMOOR, FLORIDA – The Florida Highway Patrol reported that two people were killed in a trike motorcycle crash on U.S. Highway 1 at Mirkwood Street on Sunday afternoon at about 4:50 p.m.

According to Florida Highway Patrol spokesperson Lt. Kim Montes, the victims included a 72-year-old man and a 59-year-old woman, both from St. Cloud, Florida.

According to Lt. Montes, the trike motorcycle was traveling northbound on U.S. 1 For an unknown reason, the driver lost control and the motorcycle left the roadway, overturned and ejected both the driver and passenger.

Neither victim was wearing a helmet.

The identity of the victims has not yet been released and the crash remains under investigation.
