Cocoa, Viera, Rockledge, Holy Trinity and Florida Prep All Win Boys Basketball District Championships on Friday Night

Each of the teams will host a first-round FHSAA playoff game

BREVARD COUNTY – Five area teams took home district championships in boys basketball on Friday night, according to results from Maxpreps.com. 

Viera captured the Class 6A, District 5 Championship with a 53-50 overtime win over host Melbourne.

Elsewhere, Rockledge won the Class 5A, District 8 Championship after prevailing over Eau Gallie 69-62 in a game played at Bayside.

Cocoa defeated Satellite by a 78-67 score to take home the Class 4A, District 9 Championship at Astronaut.

Holy Trinity earned the Class 3A, District 10 title after they edged Fort Pierce John Carroll 42-40 in a contest that took place at Cocoa Beach.

Finally, Florida Prep claimed the Class 2A, District 12 crown by defeating host Vero Beach St. Edward’s 52-41.

All of the district champions will host a first-round postseason contest.
