Parker Memorial Missionary Baptist Church in Cocoa invites the public to participate in the street renaming dedication ceremony to honor the late Reverend Melvin Chatman on Saturday, March 1 at 4101 Melvin Chatman Way in Cocoa.

BREVARD COUNTY • COCOA, FLORIDA – Parker Memorial Missionary Baptist Church in Cocoa invites the public to participate in the street renaming dedication ceremony to honor the late Reverend Melvin Chatman on Saturday, March 1 at 4101 Melvin Chatman Way in Cocoa.

“The Parker Memorial Missionary Baptist Church of Cocoa desires a fitting memorial to be established to pay honor and tribute to Late Pastor Melvin Chatman of noble humility, dignity and sacrifice to the Church and the West Cocoa Community,” said Committee Chairperson Bernidine Franklin.

“Under Pastor Chatman’s leadership, a House of Hope was established, and a new sanctuary and fellowship hall were built. Pastor Melvin Chatman was actively involved in city council and community meetings and was the President of the Central Brevard Ministerial Coalition and co-funder of the 4th Sunday Brotherhood of Churches.”

Immediately after the dedication at 3 p.m., a tour of the facility will be conducted for city officials, community leaders and friends to showcase the vision plans for the church and community.
