BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Brevard Public Schools will begin free food distribution via 13 Space Coast area schools beginning on Monday, from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
BPS officials said schools open as food distribution centers include Cape View Elementary, Atlantis Elementary, Coquina Elementary, Mims Elementary, Cambridge Elementary, Golfview Elementary, Mila Elementary, Central Middle, Jupiter Elementary, Sherwood Elementary, Sunrise Elementary, Turner Elementary and University Park Elementary.
Meals will be distributed to any child age 18 years and younger.
Each child will receive a package containing one breakfast meal and one lunch meal.
Children may come without a parent and will be served, however, parents/guardians who come must have the children present with them in order to receive meals for those children per USDA requirements.
To ensure social distancing, Brevard Public Schools officials request that parents drive into the bus loop and release their trunk. A BPS employee will then place one meal package per child in the trunk of the vehicle.
Parents, guardians and/or children on foot will be served, however, social distancing will also be adhered to in this situation.
The cafeteria and other school buildings will not be opened to parents and students.
