BREVARD COUNTY • PALM BAY, FLORIDA – Daedra Lynn Logan of Phillipsburg, Kansas, appeared with Florida State Rep. Randy Fine during an emotional press event Tuesday morning in Palm Bay and alleged Marcie Adkins’ campaign manager raped her in 2011 while both were serving in the U.S. Army while stationed in Colorado.

Adkins is Fine’s Republican Primary opponent for District 53 and her campaign manager is local political consultant Robert Burns.

Space Coast Daily reached Adkins for comment by phone early Tuesday afternoon who said she did not watch the press conference and had no comment.

When asked if she would be retaining Burns in his capacity of campaign manager, Adkins said that Burns was not her campaign manager and only handled social media duties for the campaign.

Prior to calling Fine, Logan said she contacted Adkins to provide details about her experience with Burns. Logan said that Adkins did not believe her claims and dismissed her out of hand.

It was then Logan called Fine last week, and an hour-long conversation ensued in which Logan detailed her allegations against Burns, which can be seen HERE and in the below Facebook post.

“I dismiss her as not credible,” said Adkins in a Facebook post. She went on to say in another Facebook post of Burns, “he is an awesome guy.”

Fine was first elected to the Florida House of Representatives from the 53rd district in 2016 and re-elected in 2018. The district covers southern Brevard County.

Adkins is Fine’s opponent in the Republican Primary Election set for August 18. She entered the race last March and hired Burns’ “The Relentless Group” to assist her efforts to unseat Fine.
