BREVARD COUNTY • PALM BAY, FLORIDA – A new BLAST (Brevard Learners Achieving Successful Transition) site was opened on August 24th at Heritage High School.

This is the 5th BLAST site in the county to serve our young adults with disabilities with successful transition programming.

Students get to experience skills of independence, vocational/employment, leisure/recreation, and social/personal and on-the-job training. Interns are working at Rose’s Retail, Goodwill, Beef O’Brady’s and Fired Up Coal Oven Pizzeria.

In addition to all the amazing opportunities and experiences, Heritage BLAST was awarded a $3,000 grant from the Palm Bay Wal-Mart Team and supplied sandwiches for their Community-Based Instruction picnic. (BPS image)
