City of Melbourne Hosts Veterans Day Parade and Fireworks Celebration, Watch Live On Space Coast Daily TV

The City of Melbourne will host a drive-in Veterans Day Fireworks Celebration at the Melbourne Square Mall on Wednesday, November 11. The Veterans Day activities will start at 10 a.m. with a Veteran’s Day parade sponsored and paid for by American Legion Post 163. The parade route starts in Downtown Melbourne and finishes at the Liberty Bell Museum.

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – The City of Melbourne hosted a drive-in Veterans Day Fireworks Celebration at the Melbourne Square Mall on Wednesday, November 11.

The Veterans Day activities started at 10 a.m. with a parade sponsored and paid for by American Legion Post 163.

The parade route started in Downtown Melbourne and finishes at the Liberty Bell Museum.

The fireworks show began at 7:30 p.m., and for those that didn’t want to venture out, they were able to watch the fireworks on Space Coast Daily TV.

The majority of the mall parking lot was available for spectators to park and observe the show while practicing social distancing.

“Due to the cancellation of the 4th of July festivities as a result of COVID, the City of Melbourne promised our residents a big celebration on Veteran’s Day to honor our Veterans as well as our wonderful country,” said retired U.S. Army Lt. Col. Tim Thomas, who is also a member of the Melbourne City Council.

“We will also be providing information at that time about the City of Melbourne Veteran’s Banner Program. The banners will go up from Memorial Day 2021 through the 4th of July 2021. There will be 100 banners that will go up on New Haven during that time period.

“Information about the criteria and application process will be out shortly. Please pass to your membership and we hope to see everyone Wednesday. Happy Veteran’s Day!”
