BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Joan T. Milvae, 86, of Melbourne, Florida, passed away July 9, 2021, at William Childs Hospice House surrounded by her loving family. She was married to Robert Milvae with whom she shared 66 wonderful years.
Born in Hartford, CT, Joan was the daughter of the late Laurence and Alice Thompson. She was a resident of Bloomfield, CT where she was a Guidance Office Secretary for the Bloomfield High School.
She later relocated to Merritt Island, FL where she worked for Tropical Elementary School as a substitute teacher. She was appointed by Governor Bush to serve on the Merritt Island Library Board.
She proudly served as a Deacon for Merritt Island Presbyterian Church.
In addition to her husband, Robert, Joan is survived by her daughters, Bonnie (David); Mary (Jim); Robin (Mark), Brothers Larry (Linda), Spencer (Debbie), and Jack; six grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brothers Wayne and Ron.
