Mustangs sweep Hawks in straight sets

BREVARD COUNTY • MERRITT ISLAND, FLORIDA – The Merritt Island Mustangs volleyball team defeated the Viera Hawks 3-0 to capture the Cape Coast Championship on Wednesday evening.

The Mustangs improved their regular season overall record to 10-4 on the year.

Under head coach Angie Patrick, the Mustangs have won 14 Cape Coast Conference titles and 17 district championships in a row.

The Mustangs rebounded Wednesday after suffering back-to-back losses on Saturday against Ponte Verde and Sante Fe.

Merritt Island will host Bishop Moore on Saturday, game time is set for 11 a.m.
