BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – The Eastern Florida State College women’s basketball team is off to their best start in over two decades with an 81-61 win over Walter State Community College on Friday evening.

The No. 17-ranked Titans improved to 7-0 on the season with the victory at the Thanksgiving Classic in Pensacola.

Freshman Rapuluchi Ngorka recorded her fifth double-double of the season for the Titans, finishing with 20 points and 10 rebounds. Teammate Shadaria Smith finished with 11 points and had four assists in the game. It was the third time Smith has had at least 11 points.

Eastern Florida State College will play No. 20 Pensacola at 3 p.m. Saturday at Pensacola. Pensacola is 7-0 on the season and is led by Kristin Williams who is averaging 16 points per game.
