Eastern Florida Forward Rapuluchi Ngorka Named Region 8 Player of the Week

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Eastern Florida State College women’s basketball player Rapuluchi Ngorka was named the Region 8 Player of the Week for the second time this season.

Ngorka had a big week for the Titans, recording a double-double in both Central Conference wins.

The freshman from Madrid, Spain scored 18 points and grabbed 17 rebounds against Santa Fe, and then recorded 15 points and 12 rebounds against Daytona State College.

The forward is averaging 15.6 points this season and her 13.0 rebounds per game are leading Region VIII. She is shooting 58.4 percent from the floor this season which is third in the state. Ngorka has recorded 11 double-doubles this season in her first 19 games.

Ngorka has also named the Region 8 Player of the Week on Dec. 7. She is the first Titan in the past seven years to win the award twice in the same season.

Ngorka and the Titans will host St. Petersburg College Wednesday night at Titan Field House on the Melbourne campus. Tip-off is at 5:30 p.m. and admission is free.
