OBITUARY: 60-Year Brevard Resident Shirley Kutz Phipps of Titusville Passed Away Dec. 29

Shirley was a retired secretary for NASA and Brevard County

Shirley Kutz Phipps, Brevard resident for 60 years, passed away on December 29, 2021. She was born October 31st, 1933 in Reading, PA, and was 88 years old.

BREVARD COUNTY • TITUSVILLE, FLORIDA – Shirley Kutz Phipps, Brevard resident for 60 years, passed away on December 29, 2021. She was born October 31st, 1933 in Reading, PA, and was 88 years old.

She is survived by her husband of 70 years, Donald W. Phipps, and her 3 children, Dona Bauer (Tom), Sheila Amparano (Scott), and Melissa Pugh (David), and 2 grandchildren, Scott Bauer (Joanna) & Tara Geogeadis (Paul).

The Phipps family moved to Brevard in 1961 from Washington DC. Shirley was a retired secretary for NASA and Brevard County. She enjoyed community affairs and was an officer in the Hampton Homes and San Mateo Village HOA’s.

She served on the boards of the Space Coast Republican Club and the North Brevard Republican Club until her death. She enjoyed reading, crosswords, and social activities.

Funeral services will be held at the North Brevard Funeral Home on Sunday, January 2, 2022, with viewing at 1 p.m. and services at 2 p.m. Burial will immediately follow at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens in Titusville. A memorial luncheon will be served thereafter at the San Mateo Clubhouse off Sisson Road.
