BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Health First announced in 2019 plans to design and construct in Brevard County “Wellness Villages,” including the relocation of a new state-of-the-art Cape Canaveral Hospital, with the goal of transforming the customer healthcare experience across the Space Coast.

Health First President & CEO Steve Johnson shared this exciting update on the progress of the health care company’s Wellness Villages with Health First’s approximately 9,000 associates on Monday morning:

“With COVID-19 being at the forefront of healthcare news – both inside and outside of our organization – it has been a while since we have taken a moment to step back and focus on what the future brings outside of the pandemic.

As hospital inpatient numbers (and the number of infections across Brevard, the state and nation) continue to decrease, now is a great time to continue our Pivot to a customer-centric-wellness company.

As part of Health First’s commitment to our community, we are pleased to share that we are on track with Health First’s Wellness Villages. These cutting-edge villages will provide modern acute care, complemented by retail and wellness-focused services.

Health First’s Wellness Villages will be destination centers for consumers that embody the transition from an era almost exclusively focused on sick care to an era of wellness.

At the core of this transition are Health First’s wellness services, representing the combination of traditional sick care and progressive preventive care, as well as related lifestyle-supporting services – healing well and living well.

They are both designed with the consumer in mind, providing our community what they want, when they want it – with an added bonus of being in one central location.

We have developed a website – hf.org/wellnessvillages – with information about the Wellness Villages. We will keep this site up to date with new information and renderings as they become available. Feel free to check it regularly to see how this innovative plan is progressing.

These are a few of many steps of bringing our vision of next-level wellness and healthcare to Brevard. We are excited for Health First and for our community. And we are thrilled for you to join us on this transformational journey.”

Health First knows that your journey to wellness begins with nurturing your mind and body. That’s why they are building a wellness destination where each experience is more personal, convenient and connected than ever before. The projects include:
