BREVARD COUNTY • COCOA, FLORIDA – Cocoa Police Department collects over 277 pounds of prescription drugs as a part of National DEA Drug Take-Back Day.

The National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day aims to provide a safe, convenient, and responsible means of disposing of prescription drugs, while also educating the general public about the potential for abuse of medications.

“Combined with what was already collected in our secured drug disposal boxes at the police department, we will be turning over 277 lbs of drugs to the DEA on Monday for safe disposal,” said Cocoa Police Department.

If you missed it on Saturday, Cocoa Police Department has two, secured drug collection boxes in the main lobby.

You can drop off unwanted medications (no chemo meds or needles) anytime Monday – Friday 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.
