ABOVE VIDEO: The 57th annual Orchid Show and Sale is being held at Kiwanis Island Park Gymnasium on Merritt Island through Sunday. This year’s show “A Rainbow of Orchids” will feature beautiful exhibits from local and international commercial growers, local orchid societies, and society members.
BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – The Platinum Coast Orchid Society will hold its annual Orchid Show and Sale from April 29 to May 1 at Kiwanis Island Park Gymnasium on Merritt Island.
This year’s show “A Rainbow of Orchids” will feature beautiful exhibits from local and international commercial growers, local orchid societies, and society members.
This is an American Orchid Society judged show and PCOS encourages orchid hobbyists in the community to enter their orchids for judging.
There will be scheduled lectures on Saturday and daily door prizes donated by community sponsors.
Platinum Coast Orchid Society members and participating vendors will be available for advice on growing and caring for orchids. Orchid culture sheets and handouts will also be available.
Kiwanis Island Park is located at 951 Kiwanis Island Park Road, off State Road 520, ½ mile east of Merritt Square Mall. Show hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday.
There is free parking and admission is $5.

Membership in the society is $15 a year and applications will be available at the courtesy booth at the show for those interested. Monthly meetings with programs, plant sales, picnics, parties, and informative presentations are some of the benefits of belonging to the society.
A portion of the proceeds from the show will benefit The Candlelighters of Brevard, Inc., which is dedicated to providing emotional and financial support to children with cancer and their families.
