Titusville Police Arrest Amos-Alize Tyrone Laffette Jones Jr. in Fatal Shooting, Charged With Double First-Degree Murder

POLICE: Jones shot all three victims at a homeless/transit campsite located in the northwest corner of Tropic Street

Titusville police detectives have arrested Amos-Alize Tyrone Laffette Jones Jr., 25, in connection with a shooting incident that happened about 5 a.m. Friday morning that left two women dead and a man seriously injured.  Jones, of Titusville was charged with two counts of First-Degree Murder and one count of First-Degree Attempted Murder.

BREVARD COUNTY • TITUSVILLE, FLORIDA – Titusville police detectives have arrested Amos-Alize Tyrone Laffette Jones Jr., 25, in connection with a shooting incident that happened about 5 a.m. Friday morning that left two women dead and a man seriously injured.

Jones, of Titusville was charged with two counts of First-Degree Murder and one count of First-Degree Attempted Murder.

“The preliminary investigation revealed Jones, who knew the victims, shot all three at a homeless/transit campsite located in a wooded area of the property on the northwest corner of Tropic Street,” said Titusville police spokesperson Amy Matthews. “Jones fled the scene before Titusville police officers arrived.”

The two female victims were deceased at the scene and the male victim was transported to a local hospital with life threatening injuries.

Matthews said the investigation led to the identity of the suspect and TPD detectives then located Jones and took him into custody without incident at approximately 12:30 p.m. Friday.

Jones was booked into the Brevard County Jail without bond.
