Brevard County Sheriff’s Office Conducting Death Investigation After Infant Found Dead in Unincorporated Cocoa

The Brevard County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the death of a six-month-old infant that was found unresponsive Saturday night at a residence located on Yarber Avenue in unincorporated Cocoa.

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – The Brevard County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the death of a six-month-old infant that was found unresponsive Saturday night at a residence located on Yarber Avenue in unincorporated Cocoa.

According to the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office, the investigation began after deputies responded to the residence after the mother called the Communications Center advising that her baby was not breathing.

The baby was transported to the hospital where they were later pronounced dead.

The infant was taken to the Brevard County Medical Examiner’s Office where an autopsy will be conducted.

The investigation is ongoing as agents are awaiting the final medical results and examining evidence to determine the circumstances that led to the death.
