BREVARD COUNTY • COCOA BEACH, FLORIDA – The Space Coast Office of Tourism is seeking to commission an artist to paint a mural in its new Visitor Information Center in Cocoa Beach.
The mural should capture the essence of the area as a vacation destination, highlighting the “Only Here” experiences and creating an exciting and welcoming atmosphere.
This Call for Art is open to all practicing artists wishing to publicly display their art.
The final project should include elements from the five pillars of tourism on Florida’s Space Coast including Space, Beaches/Surfing, Cruises, Nature/Outdoor activities, and leisure (such as dining, shopping, and visiting attractions.)
“The new Visitor Information Center will not only be a place for tourists and residents alike to ask questions and pick up brochures about local attractions but will be designed to be a place to spark curiosity and interest in the Space Coast,” says Peter Cranis, Executive Director.
“The mural will be the perfect place for the first selfie of a vacation or for guests to create their very own ‘wish you were here’ style photo.”
Applications are due on September 2, 2022, with selections to be completed in mid-September. The mural will be painted during business hours in October.
The application for entry is available HERE with complete requirements, information and timeline.
