(247sports.com) – Arkansas running back Raheim “Rocket” Sanders burst onto the scene and made a significant impact as a true freshman for the Razorbacks last season, and the Rockledge native is primed to take his game to another level as he gears up for his sophomore campaign.

Sanders earned SEC All-Freshman honors from the league’s coaches in 2021 after tallying 114 carries for 578 yards (5.1 ypc) and five touchdowns. The versatile athlete also added 11 receptions for an additional 109 yards and a score.

He was a key cog in a multi-weapon rushing attack for the Razorbacks that finished No. 7 in the nation with 227.8 yards per game on the ground.

Already a physical specimen at 6-2, 227 pounds, Sanders looks noticeably more chiseled at the start of fall camp than the end of spring practices, which comes as no surprise to running backs coach Jimmy Smith, who has also seen him make tremendous strides when it comes to evolving from a gifted athlete to a true running back after playing multiple positions in high school.
